The Moorestown Community Band Music Education Day is an immersive Conducting Workshop designed specifically for Undergraduate Music Education students!

- Conduct the Moorestown Community Band in a supportive and collaborative environment. Gain valuable experience and confidence in front of a live full concert band.
- Score Study Session: Deepen your understanding of conducting preparation for every day Band Directors with guidance on score analysis and interpretation.
- Personalized Feedback: Receive personalized constructive feedback on your conducting techniques.
- Networking Opportunities: Connect with fellow pre-service teachers and share ideas.
- Video Recording of Your Session: Take home a video recording of your conducting session for further study and reflection.
Clinicians:
Michelle Gergich is the Music Director & Conductor of the Moorestown Community Band. She has 8 years of experience teaching Instrumental Music in the New Jersey public schools and 11 years of experience conducting community ensembles. Ms. Gergich holds a Master of Music Degree in Instrumental Conducting from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, where she studied with Kraig Williams, a Bachelor of Music Performance Degree from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from New Jersey City University. Dr. Sandra Hsin-Yi Lee is the Assistant Conductor of the Raystown Wind Orchestra. She also plays clarinet in both the Bellefonte Community Band and the State College Municipal Wind Ensemble. An experienced music educator, Dr. Lee has taught general music, music appreciation, and is a certified Orff-Schulwerk group music instructor. Dr. Lee holds a Doctorate Degree in Wind Conducting from Texas Tech University, where she studied with Dr. Sarah McKoin and assisted with the Goin' Band from Raiderland, and Master Degrees from Teachers College at Columbia University and Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she studied conducting with Dr. Jack Stamp. |
Participants will be limited to the first ten participants who have paid and submitted the required recommendation form on time.
Observers will participate in the score study session and have the opportunity to sit and play with the Moorestown Community Band, but will not conduct the Band.

Participant Fee: $15
Observer Fee $5
